Several independent studies since 1998 have noiw determined that Cr399 is not a true cluster, but rather a chance alignment of stars.

Brocchi's Cluster, also known as Cr399 has given rise to the name as the 'Coathanger', due to the members of the star cluster forming this shaped asterism.
