Brief History

I started my interest in astrophotography back in 2005 when I lived in Stratford upon Avon.

My first ever astronomy image was that of the Comet Hale-Bopp when I was camping on Cannock Chase.

Astronomy is not a cheap hobby. I have wasted thousands of pounds on equipment that didn't live up to expectations.

Long Itch Astro was established in 2012.

Present Day

In 2019 Long Itch Astro establised a connection with Long Itchington C of E Primary School and took an active role in encouraging their pupils to take part in astronomy and astrophotography.
However in 2023 the school decided they no longer wanted the observatory equipment and it is being dismantled.

The Future

Long Itch Astro will continue to expand its teaching role where possible.
