Events for 2016

Comet Catalina is about in the night sky. It is about at it's brightest now, so why not have a look?

  • March 8th - Jupiter at opposition. Due south at midnight. Best view you will get of Jupiter until 2023.

  • April 22nd - Mercury at greatest Eastern elongation. Baically the best time to see Mercury in the evening sky when it's furthest from the sun.

  • May 9th - Transit of Mercury across the sun. Starts 10.40am finishes at 7pm

  • May 22nd - Mars at opposition

  • June 3rd - Saturn at opposition

  • August 12th & 13th - Perseid meteor shower
